Honeycrisp apples are oblate to roundly oblate in shape... Skin color is 60 to 90 percent distinctive mottled red over a yellow background. A nearly solid red coloration develops only if the fruit is well exposed to the sun. The fruit surface has shallow dimples and numerous, small lenticels(dots) with green russeting at the stem end. Honeycrisp fruit is characterized by an exceptionally crisp and juicy texture. Its flesh is cream colored and coarse. "Pickling" refers to cucumbers that are primarily used for processing or pickling. Pickling cucumbers have thin skins, are short and blocky, and usually have a color gradient from dark green at the stem end to light green at the blossom end. Cucumbers can be pickled for flavor and longer shelf-life. As compared to eating cucumbers, pickling cucumbers tend to be shorter, thicker, less regularly-shaped, and have bumpy skin with tiny white- or black-dotted spines. They are never waxed. The disease is caused by a late infection by the tomato mosaic virus, which usually severely affects the fruit on one or two clusters without affecting other fruit at all. The characteristic symptoms of internal browning are noticeable when the fruit is cut across near the stem end. In slightly diseased fruit only a few small brown areas may occur. External symptoms are gray or grayish brown areas that often show through the translucent skin of the green or partly ripe fruit. These appear occasionally as blotchy, ill-defined areas. La maladie a pour cause un retour tardif du virus de la mosaïque de la tomate. En général, elle attaque gravement les fruits d'une grappe ou deux sans toucher les autres. Les symptômes caractéristiques du brunissement interne apparaissent clairement lorsque l'on coupe un fruit transversalement près du pédoncule. Dans les fruits légèrement infectés, le brunissement peut se limiter à quelques petites taches brunes. À l'extérieur, les symptômes prennent la forme de petites taches grises ou brun grisâtre souvent visibles à travers la peau transparente des fruits verts ou partiellement mûrs. Parfois, ils peuvent apparaître sous forme de taches ou de zones de formes indistinctes.
