The Gravitational Biology Facility comprises two racks with multiple, interchangeable specimen habitats for cells, tissue cultures, plants, insects, rodents, aquatic creatures and avian and reptilian eggs. Each habitat will provide food, water, light, air, humidity and temperature control, and resources for specimen waste management. They are equipped to transmit science and engineering data to the ground. Environmental Effects Monitoring(EEM) is a scientific tool that assesses the effects of effluent from industrial or other sources on fish, fish habitat and the human use of fisheries resources. Information form EEM, taken together with social, economic and technical considerations, may be used to assess the adequacy of the regulations in protecting aquatic environments and to ensure proper management, conservation and protection of aquatic environments. EEM is not just an end-of-pipe measurement of the concentrations of various contaminants in effluent.
