Augmented reality(AR) is the addition of digital imagery and other information to the real world by a computer system. AR enhances a user's view or perception of the world by adding computer generated information to their view. Spatial augmented reality is a branch of AR research that uses projectors to augment physical objects with computer generated information and graphics. Traditionally, projectors have been used to project information onto purpose built projection screens, or walls. SAR on the other hand, locates(or projects) information directly onto objects of interest, including moving objects. SAR systems use sensors to develop a three dimensional(3D) model of the world, and typically include tracking systems that enable them to dynamically track movement of real world objects. Such movements or changes are integrated into the 3D model so that updates can be made to projections as objects are moved around.

Robotic grasping and manipulation in unknown environments is made difficult by several factors. ... To make robots cheaper, lighter, and safer, precision in the accuracy of end-effector position is often sacrificed. This introduces uncertainty in the position of the gripper relative to the object. Robotic grasping theory must account for such uncertainty in order to provide robust and reliable grasping in unstructured environments. One method for dealing with such uncertainty is robotic caging. Unlike an immobilizing grasp, in which the robotic hand grasps an object so as to prevent all motion of the object relative to the hand, a caging grasp only prevents the object from escaping through the fingers, while allowing some motion of the object relative to the hand.

The field of telerobotics dealing with the design, building and operation of robots from a distance in outer space.

Space telerobotics is an inherently complex task, requiring mental visualization skills, fine motor visualization skills, fine motor control, and adhering to procedure and flight rules. Often space telerobotics is accomplished only using video views of the work area, so the robotic arm operator must interpret two dimensional images to create a 3D [three-dimensional] mental model of the environment and their position inside it, all the while being aware of arm kinematics and limitations, avoiding collisions, and following procedural flight rules. To add to the workload, they also control the arm in six degrees of freedom, using separate rotational and translational hand controls, where the movement axes are frequently not aligned with camera views(e. g., the operator views the scene backwards or upside down).

La combinaison sèche ou «dry suit» est faite de Nylon ou de caoutchouc mousse laminé, étanche à l'eau. La combinaison en Nylon est ample, donc plus confortable. Cependant, elle doit être bien ajustée au cou, aux poignets et aux pieds pour empêcher toute infiltration d'eau. La moindre fissure laisse passer toute l'eau qui veut bien y entrer et le vêtement perd ses propriétés isolantes.

A specific type of tenosynovitis which involves the tendons of two specific muscles on the thumb side of the hand-the abductor pollicis longus(APL) and the extensor pollicis brevis(EPB). These muscles are located in the forearm and their tendons travel across the wrist(through a "tunnel" termed the first dorsal compartment) on the thumb side to produce movement of the thumb. The walls of the affected tendon sheaths(basically protective coverings for the tendons) become thickened and inflamed.

The precise cause of de Quervain’s tenosynovitis is unknown. It is thought that excessive friction from overuse of the thumb and wrist (excessive and repetitive gripping and grasping actions) may be a factor, leading to thickening of the tissues in the compartment housing the APL and EPB tendons. For example, cases have been described in bricklayers, those who sew, piano players, fly fishermen, and golfers. It has also been hypothesized that the condition in some cases may be associated with acute injury to the involved area (direct blow to the forearm or wrist, falling on the thumb).

The movement of the SRMS [Shuttle Remote Manipulator System] is controlled by the Space shuttle general-purpose computer(GPC). The hand controllers used by the astronauts tell the computer what the astronauts would like the arm to do. Built in software examines what the astronauts commanded inputs are and calculates which joints to move, what direction to move them in, how fast to move them and what angle to move to. As the computer issues the commands to each of the joints it also looks at what is happening to each joint every 80 milliseconds. Any changes inputted by the astronauts to the initial trajectory commanded are re-examined and recalculated by the GPC and updated commands are then sent out to each of the joints.

Rotary mills, both animal driven and hand powered, came into use about 2, 300 years ago and represented a major advance in the development of milling machinery. The hand powered rotary mills, known as querns, superseded saddlestones in the home and were widely used until the end of the nineteenth century. To this day, the quern is a popular piece of household equipment in many developing nations where home milling is still practised.
