In 1981, the Board initiated a new policy which provides for producers to deliver direct to deep water terminal elevators or processors designated by the Board. By doing so under signed agreement by the Board, producers receive an agent handling charge of $7. 25 per tonne plus a conditioning fee of $1. 10 per tonne if the wheat is 14. 5% moisture content or lower. In Ontario, wheat moves from farms to country agents appointed by the Ontario Wheat Board, of which there are about 180....
