After this accident ... Fed EX developed a tail strike awareness training program that included bounced landing recovery in its simulator training. That program limited pitch altitude to 7-½ deg for recovery from a bounced landing.

Guide-chaîne sans pignon de renvoi dont l'embout a été durci par l'apport de stellite afin d'augmenter la résistance à l'usure produite par le frottement de la chaîne.

Cette diminution d'usure est généralement accentuée par l'apport de stellite (alliage possédant la propriété de garder ses qualités jusqu'à 700°C) à cet endroit, d'où le nom de guide-chaîne stellité (Aide-mémoire de l'acheteur de scies à chaîne, dans : Courrier de l'exploitant et du scieur, no 28, 1er trimestre 1978, p. 5).

OBS

Ce type de guide-chaîne dont l'extrémité s'use beaucoup plus rapidement que celle du guide-chaîne à pignon de renvoi est peu utilisé en forêt. On le trouve surtout sur des scies destinées à un usage occasionnel.
