A test used to diagnose benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) that consists of a series of head, neck, and body movements that reproduce the vertigo sensation.

The Dix-Hallpike test is typically performed in a doctor's office. The doctor will ask you to sit upright on an exam table with your legs stretched out in front of you and your head turned to one side. They will then ask you to lower your head and torso back so that you end up lying with your head stretched off the edge of the exam table, turned with one ear down at a 45-degree angle. If there are misplaced calcium deposits(also called canaliths) in the posterior canal of your inner ear, this will trigger vertigo symptoms.

OBS

Benign positional paroxysmal vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most common causes of vertigo. The Dix-Hallpike maneuver is the gold standard test used to diagnose BPPV, which is crucial in confirming posterior canal BPPV.

Ice screws ... Push the ice screw into the ice while twisting the hanger by hand in a clockwise direction to get it started. Placing the ice screw at waist level allows you to push harder and turn the screw with less effort. Continue to turn the ice screw handle by hand until the hanger nearly contacts the ice surface. Chip away any fractured ice using your ice axe, then turn the ice screw handle the remainder of the way. Align the hanger so that it hangs downward—in the direction of pull. ... When possible, choose an ice screw length that will not bottom out on rock underneath the ice. Turning your ice screw into rock will damage the teeth and can fracture the ice.

The tip of the cone is the toothed end of the screw. As ice enters the cone it can expand. The core fills with ice chips that are easy to clean out by tapping the screw against a hammer of axe head.

Parmi les techniques les plus utilisées : l'injection, qui consiste à aller placer sous pression des résines ou des gels sur les défauts ponctuels grâce à un appareillage guidé depuis la surface; le gainage ou chemisage continu, qui permet de reconstituer la paroi interne de la conduite, également à partir de résines; enfin le tubage qui permet d'introduire une conduite de diamètre inférieur dans le tronçon à réhabiliter ou dans une voie libérée après broyage ou éclatement de la conduite défectueuse.

This fibre optic viewing head extension is particularly useful for solving the sighting problems associated with tilting or movable burners. The flame envelope from this type of burner can be tilted from a horizontal position up or down as much as 30 degrees. It would be impossible to follow this flame pattern with a fixed sighting through the wind-box. Welding the tip guide(lens end) of this viewing head extension to the movable air compartment nozzle solves this problem. This viewing head extension can also be used for those applications where it is impossible to find a clear unobstructed view of the flame using a standard sight pipe. Here again the viewing head extension is mounted inside the furnace for a clear unobstructed view of the flame.

Filter Fabric Soil Retention Test.... a laboratory test to evaluate the ability of filter fabrics to act as silt curtains or fences. The test apparatus consists of two plastic tanks... with one end of each tank being open and capable of holding the fabric to be tested in a fixed and vertical position. One tank is filled with water and given a dry weight of soil from the site of the proposed construction. After a prescribed mixing procedure the soil-water suspension is allowed to pass through the fabric separating the two tanks. Hydrometer analyses are used to evaluate the weight of soil in each tank and thereby the percent of soil passing the fabric. Head differentials allow for calculation of the velocities involved for repeated trials.
