Paints consisting of copolymers designed to be smoothed via erosion of their surface as the vessel moves through the water, continually exposing smooth, fresh paint.

Self-polishing copolymer (SPC) antifoulings release biocides via a hydrolysis reaction of an acrylic polymer with seawater. This is a chemical reaction and only occurs at the surface of the coating. SPC technology combines controlled polishing rate and optimum biocide release with inherent self-smoothing for hull roughness control and maximum fuel efficiency.

"Controlled solubility copolymers" or "self-polishing copolymers (SPC)" are modern coatings in which, initially for TBT [tributyltin] paints, the biocide was chemically part of the paint matrix or resin, for example the copolymer tributylin methacrylate. When immersed, hydrolysis caused the copolymer to cleave, or hydrolyse, splitting the copolymer into a TBT (the biocide) and an acrylate (the resin) component. The TBT then released and acted as a biocide, the acrylate dissolved to ablate the paint. TBT-free SPCs have now been developed which use copper, zinc or silyl acrylate copolymers.

A city of the Yukon Territory and its capital since 1953, located at kilometre 1476, just off the Alaska Highway. The city lies mainly on the western side of the Yukon River, nestled in a protected valley surrounded by Canyon Mountain(locally known as Grey Mountain) to the east, Haeckel Hill to the northwest and Golden Horn Mountain to the south. Located at the head of navigation on the Yukon River, Whitehorse grew significantly by becoming a temporary stopping point--past two major obstacles on the river, Miles Canyon and the Whitehorse Rapids--for prospectors heading for Dawson(then known as "Dawson City") during the Klondike Gold Rush Years(1897-1899). In 1900, with the completion of the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway from Skagway in Alaska, to Carcross and Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, the community grew around the point where the railway and river met, on the western side of the Yukon River. After the gold rush, Whitehorse's population dropped, but with the help of navigation and aviation companies, the British Yukon Navigation Company building riverboats and operating them to Dawson until 1954, and the British Yukon Aviation Company transporting mail, freight and passengers, the economy was kept afloat. During World War II, Whitehorse played a significant role as a key link in the north-south transportation system, hosting the Americans and Canadians in charge of expanding the air link that was the Northwest Staging Route(a series of airfields across the Northwest), building the 2300-km Alaska Highway, or constructing the Canol Pipeline from Norman Wells, N. W. T., and an oil refinery at Whitehorse. In 1950, Whitehorse was incorporated as a city. In 1953, the territorial capital of the Yukon was moved from Dawson to Whitehorse, adding the government sector to an economy made of the mining(copper, silver and lead-zinc), tourist and oil industries. Under the attentat clause, it is not political offense to murder or to make an attempt at the life of the head of a state, or a member of his family, or sometimes, a member of the government. This is also called the Belgian clause, since it was first propounded in an enactment in Belgium in 1856,... The clause is found in many treaties and statutes. The scope of the clause has varied. For example, it has excluded from being considered political a crime involving an attempt upon the life of the head of a state and members of his family, or, in addition, upon the lives of the ministers of state, or, in further addition, upon the lives of vice-presidents, governors, and other state functionaries.
