... RACE, an innovative, chic, and highly flexible method of organizing individual work areas [designed by Montréal designer David Ball]. RACE consists of components that are designed to be easily adjustable. Space dividers, desktops and filing space are all supported by a horizontal beam with a so-called raceway, a hollow core containing electrical wiring and data communications cables. The beam rests on metal posts at desk-top level, providing easy access to electrical outlets and allowing air to flow freely around and under the work area. Padded acoustic panels can be snapped onto vertical bars that rise above the desktop, providing privacy. Unlike similar systems, each piece can be moved separately and the raceway, for which the design is named, is flexible enough to accommodate rapidly changing communications systems. A nine-point, Rb-Sr whole-rock isochron defines an age of 360 +/- 8 m.y. for the pluton (initial /sup 87/Sr//sup 86/Sr = 0.7056 +/- 3).

Holland and Lambert... carried out Rb-Sr isotopic analyses on a set of 13 samples of pegmatite but the data do not form a single coherent isochron and are, therefore, difficult to interpret. A selected nine-point isochron implies a crystallisation age of 1663 [more or less] 22 Ma with an initial 87Sr/86Sr ratio of 0. 705, coincident with that of the Tollie gneisses.... Holland and Lambert considered that the scatter of points might be the product of an open isotopic system involving variable loss of 87Sr into the host gneisses. If this were the case and if there were no comparable loss of Rb, the upper boundary of the data spread(i. e. the nine-point 1663 Ma isochron) would be expected to give the closest approximation to the age.

Hungarian Red was originally used as a staining solution in Hungary to stain fingerprints in blood. It was rediscovered in 1995 when a long stored sample that had almost been forgotten was employed at a gruesome murder with lots of blood in Holland. At this scene, a number of footprints were more or less visible. The detective remembered the sample from Hungary. The staining solution worked well, so more was sent from Hungary to process the whole crime scene.

Telles que le "Bronzé à large poitrine" (Broad Breasted Bronze) et le "Grand Blanc" (Large White). Ce sont des animaux de forte taille: les mâles adultes pèsent de 15 à 20 kg, les femelles de 10 à 12. Une sélection intensive a permis d'obtenir une conformation excellente avec des "filets" que l'on peut distribuer en rôtis ou escalopes. 2) races de format léger.
