Electronic flight instrument system(EFIS). The EFIS contains four large liquid crystal displays(LCD) AFDs [adaptive flight displays]. The two outboard AFDs are composite color displays strapped to function as PFDs [primary flight displays]. The PFD replaces a conventional attitude direction indicator(ADI), horizontal situation indicator(HSI), altitude indicator(ALI), airspeed indicator(ASI), vertical speed indicator(VSI) and mach speed indicator(MSI).

En actionnant les diverses gouvernes de l'avion au travers des équipements du système de commande vol, le pilote est capable de diriger et d'orienter son appareil en fonction des besoins ou des phases de vol. Le système de commandes de vol sait dialoguer avec les autres systèmes de l'avion (suivi de terrain, pilote automatique, ...). Les commandes de vol électriques suppriment toute timonerie entre le pilote et les gouvernes, cela permet de piloter des avions naturellement instables, comme le Mirage 2000 et le Rafale, leur conférant ainsi une grande maniabilité.

Two new tracking functions, BeaconTrac and OBS-Trac, expand tracking capabilities of the new Bendix RDR-1400 digital colour weather radar, according to the company.(...) BeaconTrac generates an inbound course to a discrete beacon. This course line is generated from the beacon display and can be rotated 360 degrees around the beacon with the HSI(Horizontal Situation Indicator) course selector. BeaconTrac will operate up to 80 nmi(about 150 km). Using the HSI course selector to position the BeaconTrac line, the pilot can readily determine an intercept or approach path. Once on BeaconTrac and heading inbound, the RDR-1400 displays left/right deviation to the beacon.
