Linear contrast enhancement... linearly expands the original digital values of the remotely sensed data into a new distribution. By expanding the original input values of the image, the total range of sensitivity of the display device can be utilized. Linear contrast enhancement also makes subtle variations within the data more obvious. These types of enhancements are best applied to remotely sensed images with Gaussian or near-Gaussian histograms, meaning, all the brightness values fall within a narrow range of the histogram and only one mode is apparent. LANTIRN consists of a navigation pod and a targeting pod integrated and mounted externally beneath the aircraft. The AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod provides high-speed penetration and precision attack on tactical targets at night and in adverse weather. Le pré-traitement concerne les images acquises tandis que le post-traitement concerne les images traitées. Dans les deux cas, les images ne peuvent échapper aux effets de dégradations dus essentiellement aux phénomènes physiques tels : la diffraction (déviation) du système optique [;] l le flou dû au mouvement de l'image durant son acquisition. Pour pallier à ces dégradations on utilise en général le filtrage.

Segregation in perception refers to grouping together the parts of objects and distinguishing different objects. Our perceptual apparatus segregates sensory input in so effortless a fashion that it hardly seems that segregation is a task that must be actively performed. Consider, though, the visual information provided when we look at a person sitting in a chair. We readily group together the areas of the visual image that belong to the person and those that belong to the chair. We do not, for instance, mistakenly group together the person's left leg with the legs of the chair.
