Western Economic Diversification Canada is working to remove some of the barriers facing women in business by supporting the Women's Enterprise Initiative Loan Program. Each western province has set up its own component of this pan-western initiative. The Interest Relief Plan, as a component of the Canada Student Loans Program, helps full-time or part-time students who are finding it difficult to pay back their federal student loans because of low income. Under the Plan, the Government of Canada pays the interest on Canada student loans and, during this time, the student does not have to make any loan payments. Interest relief is normally approved for 3 month periods for a maximum lifetime benefit of up to 18 months and is available within the first five years of repayment for full-time students. Le Régime d'exemption d'intérêts, composante du Programme canadien de prêts aux étudiants, aide les étudiants à temps plein ou à temps partiel qui ont de la difficulté à rembourser leur prêt d'études fédéral en raison d'un faible revenu. En vertu de ce régime, le gouvernement du Canada paye les intérêts sur le prêt canadien d'études et, durant la période où il s'applique, l'étudiant n'est pas tenu de rembourser son prêt. En temps normal, l'approbation d'exemption d'intérêts est valide pour des périodes de trois mois sur une durée maximale à vie de 18 mois au cours des cinq premières années du remboursement pour les étudiants à temps plein. The Entrepreneur Program is a provincially delivered job creation initiative to help unemployed New Brunswickers create jobs for themselves through self-employment. The Program has two distinct components : Eligible participants could receive assistance with business start-ups including loan guarantees and/or self-employment benefits. The Program is administered by the Employment Division of the Department of Labour. Under the Loan Guarantee Component, clients can receive a loan up to $10, 000. Le Programme Entrepreneur est une initiative provinciale de création d'emplois visant à aider les Néo-Brunswickois sans emploi à se créer un emploi grâce au travail indépendant. Le Programme comporte deux volets distincts. Les participants admissibles peuvent obtenir de l'assistance au démarrage d'une entreprise, y compris des garanties d'emprunt ou encore de l'aide au travail indépendant. Le Programme est administré par la Division de l'emploi du ministère du Travail. Le volet de garantie d'emprunt permet aux clients de recevoir un prêt allant jusqu'à 10,000$.
