Local name for a foehn that blows from the south(Hungary) across the Tatra Mountains south of Krakow, Poland, and descends the northern valleys; similar to the Alpine south foehn.

It is sometimes stormy and may reach 20-25 m s-1 (40-50 mph) in gusts, especially in spring and fall. It raises temperatures to as much as 14 °C above the normal for the season, and in winter and spring it causes avalanches. At Zakopane (in southern Poland) it sometimes blows as a high foehn. This wind occurs in front of depressions moving eastward in the Baltic.

The common smut of Indian corn caused by a fungus (Ustilago maydis) and characterized by grayish white swellings that rupture to expose a black spore mass.

Like other smut diseases, common smut of corn derives its name from the sooty masses of teliospores found on infected host plants... The most obvious symptoms are tumor-like galls that vary in size from less than 1 cm to more than 30 cm(0. 4-12 inch) in diameter. All meristematic tissues are susceptible to infection. Galls are found most frequently on ears, tassels, stalks, nodal shoots, and mid-ribs of leaves... Even though galls may form on many above-ground parts of the plant, infection is local(i. e., the host is not colonized systemically). Occasionally, galls develop beneath the soil surface when the apical meristem of a young plant is infected.

The ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation has a rich and interesting history. It began in 1935, when the mandate of the ministère des Affaires municipales was broadened to include industry and trade, two sectors of increasing importance to the government. In 1943, the ministère de l'Industrie et du Commerce was founded. Over the years, other mandates were grafted onto its mission : technology in 1988, science in 1994, and external trade in 1996. In 1998, the science and technology mandates were entrusted to the ministère de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie, which, in its early days, was charged with devising a scientific policy to bring about a new convergence between universities, industry and government. In 1998, the ministère des Régions was created as a successor to the Secrétariat au développement des régions in order to implement the new policy to support local and regional development, with a view to promoting and assisting the development of the regions and ensuring consistent government action. On April 29, 2003, the Premier announced the creation of the ministère du Développement économique et régional(MDER) out of these four entities. The purpose of the merger was to improve intervention targeting regional businesses and stakeholders by simplifying it and making it more coherent and efficient. In April 2004, "Recherche" was added to the MDER's name. In February 2005, the MDERR was divided into three departments : the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation; the ministère du Tourisme; and the ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions.

But inadequate terrestrial links between Montréal and Mirabel contributed to give to the Montréal Dorval Airport("Montréal-Dorval") its international status, leaving the charter(up to Autumn 2004) and cargo flights to the Mirabel Airport("Montréal-Mirabel") ;political decisions for these ends were accompanied by important subsidies for the building of added accommodations to what has become the "Montréal Dorval International Airport. "With the amalgamation or merging of all the cities on the Île de Montréal, including the former cities of Montréal and of Dorval, to form the new city of Montréal on the 1 January 2002, the airport became the "Montréal Airport, "a reality usage had already confirmed. On the 1 January 2004, the airport's name changed to "Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport" to honour a former Prime Minister of Canada as do other important airports in the country. The official name will, no doubt, not be quoted at length all the time; the forms mentioned as correct on the present record will surely be used instead, including the recommendation of the airport authority as to the use of "Montréal-Trudeau" as the current short form("fly from Montréal-Trudeau", or "land at the Montréal-Trudeau Airport"). Even if the airport encountered many name and status changes, it never had a name that includes a comma, and had always been represented by YUL, its IATA three-letter code.

In contrast to semivariance, the Getis statistic (Gi), generates values which relate variations within patterns of spatial dependence. Thus, it has the potential to uncover discrete spatial regimes which might be overlooked by existing techniques. ... Wulder and Boots have adapted the Getis statistic for processing remotely sensed imagery. The Getis statistic yields a standardized value which indicates both the degree of autocorrelation in the values of the digital numbers centered on a given pixel and the magnitude of these values in relation to those of the entire image. The Gi values measure the extent to which a pixel is surrounded by a cluster of high or low values of a particular variable (e.g. DN). Large positive Gi values denote a cluster of high DN values; large negative Gi values indicate the spatial dependence within a tree crown or between shadow elements. High positive values generated from infrared wavelength image data indicate the presence of a tree object whereas high negative values relate a non-tree feature.

The Rouergue and Quercy regions both nested in the colourful Aquitaine, supply us with this small 40 gr cheese. It can be made with goat or ewes milk and sometimes with a mix of the two. The Cabecou, with its 45% of fat in it, is nonetheless called a soft cheese, covered with a thin bluey natural skin which appears only when the maturing and ventilation is carefully done. The taste is very unique and you can find some hints of nuts according to its village of origin. Its name comes from the shortened version of "small goat" in Oc, the local southern language.

The Independent Assemblies of God was birthed in the year 1918 as the Scandinavian Assemblies of God in the United States of America, Canada and Foreign Lands. It existed under this name from 1918 to 1935.
