Ces dispositions sont souvent d'un grand intérêt pour le juge, pour connaître quel est le droit consulaire en vigueur dans l'ordre juridique interne des États. Un grand nombre d'États ont des législations concernant les règlements consulaires. La plupart de ces législations ont été publiées par certains auteurs et par l'O.N.U.
