Any resulting trial structure consisting of initial coordinates for some of the atoms is often sufficient for location of the other atoms by the application of the method of successive Fourier electron-density maps. The phases calculated from the initial parameters of the presumably known atoms, together with the observed Fhkl, are utilized to compute a density map. New coordinates are obtained not only for the peaks corresponding to these known atoms but also for the other peaks which it is hoped can be interpreted from stereochemical considerations as being due to additional atoms in the structure. The Fourier process is then reiterated, with the new phases calculated from the modified coordinates of the previous set of atoms plus the coordinates of newly located atoms. If a correct distinction between the "true" and the "false" peaks is made, the electron-density function usually converges to give the entire crystal structure.

A Community Forest Image Management Tool has been developed to assist in keeping track of these images, and making them available over the World Wide Web. Crater Moltke was named after Helmut Karl von Moltke(1800-1891AD), a Prussian Field Marshall who secured the publication of a map of the Moon produced by the German selenographer, Johann Schmidt. Figure 1 illustrates the location of Crater Moltke. The crater is positioned near a small embayment on the south-southwest margin of Mare Tranquillitatis, the Sea of Tranquillity. Despite its small size, the crater is relatively easy to find, particularly near Full Moon, due to the contrast of the bright ejecta blanket against the dark background of the mare.

The Canadian Lightning Detection Network(CLDN) helps meteorologists and scientists detect and monitor thunderstorms at an early stage in their development. Eighty-three sensors are set up across the country forming the Canadian portion of a North American network which is the largest of its kind in the world. The CLDN is able to detect more than 100 000 lightning flashes an hour. Within 40 seconds, the sensors determine the stregnth and location of lightning, send the information to Environment Canada's weather centres and then map out the information on a computer screen.
