The idea of a pretensioner is to tighten up any slack in the belt webbing in the event of a crash. Whereas the conventional locking mechanism in a retractor keeps the belt from extending any farther, the pretensioner actually pulls in on the belt. This force helps move the passenger into the optimum crash position in his or her seat. Pretensioners normally work together with conventional locking mechanisms, not in place of them.

Simultaneously, hips and knees flex into a quarter squat position. Once arms are under bar, lift elbows to position the upper arms parallel to floor. Rack the bar across front of clavicles(collar bones) and anterior deltoids(front shoulder muscles).... Stand up by extending hips and knees to a fully erect position. Downward movement phase : lower bar by gradually reducing muscular tension of arms to allow a controlled descent of the bar to the thighs.... Squat down with the elbows fully extended until the bar touches the floor.

An instrument used to attach surgical drapes to each other or to the patient in order to maintain a sterile field at the time of operation.

Towel-clamp forceps or simply towel clamps are used to maintain surgical towels and drapes in the correct position during an operation. They are locking type forceps with curved ends. The beak may be pointed or blunt and flat. They may even overlap in closed position.... Application of the brake pedal, which is linked to the master cylinder piston rod, causes the piston rod to push the piston forward inside the master cylinder casting. A slight forward movement blocks the compensating port, and the buildup of pressure begins. This pressure is transmitted to the brake assembly. When the brake pedal is released and returns to the "off" position, the piston return spring pushes the front piston seal and the piston back to full "off" position against the piston return stop. This again clears the compensating port. Fluid that was moved into the brake assembly and brake connecting line is then pushed back to the master cylinder by the brake piston which is returned to the "off" position by the pressure of the brake piston return springs. Any pressure or excess volume of fluid is relieved through the compensating port and passes back to the fluid reservoir. This prevents the master cylinder from locking or causing the brakes to drag.
