Pelagic longline gear is composed of a long length of mainline deployed across ocean attached to numerous baited "branchlines" that are suspended in the water column between regularly spaced floats. Each branchline connects the mainline to a single, baited hook with anywhere from 4 to 30 or more branchlines(baited hooks) set between floats. The floats may be attached directly to the mainline for a shallower set or connected to "floatlines" to target deeper-dwelling species. Each section of mainline with its branchlines between two adjacent floats is defined as a "basket" of gear as traditional style "basket gear" was composed of mainline sections that were stored in baskets when not in use.

Historical research indicates that KE projectiles are responsible for forty percent of tanks knocked out in battle. Because KE projectiles are normally fired at very high velocity, they have a very flat trajectory(flight path), a decreased time of flight, and increased hit probability. The effectiveness of KE projectiles decreases at longer ranges, since the projectiles slow down during long flights.

Improved uniformity of the laser for-al spot profile is a necessary criterion for the success of high intensity laser fusion and to improve the quality of data from moderate intensity laser driven shock experiments in solids. The Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival is a multi-day festival celebrated jointly by the cities of Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario to commemorate each country's respective National Day(US Independence Day on July 4 and Canada Day on July 1). In a long synthetic aperture(array), SAR focusing involves the removal and compensation of path length differences from the antenna to the target on the ground.

CONT

The main advantage of a focused synthetic aperture is that it increases its array length over those radar signals that can be processed, and thus increases potential SAR resolution at any range. SAR focusing is a necessary process when the length of a synthetic array is a significant fraction of the range to ground being imaged, as the lines-of-sight (range) from a particular point on the ground to each individual element of the array differ in distance. These range differences, or path length differences, of the radar signals can affect image quality. In a focused SAR image these phase errors can be compensated for by applying a phase correction to the return signal at each synthetic aperture element. Focusing errors may be introduced by unknown or uncorrected platform motion. In an unfocused SAR image, the usable synthetic aperture length is quite limited.
