Aims Develop closer economic links among the 3 member countries by ensuring free circulation of persons, goods, capital and services; follow a coordinated policy in economic, financial and social fields in order to reach the optimum level of employment and the highest standard of life compatible with monetary stability, follow a coordinated policy aimed at the harmonious development of the intraborder regions, if useful in an enlarged setting with other neighbouring countries. These two conventions were unified, up-dated and extended by the 1992 OSPAR Convention.... This pooling of expertise helps to ensure that the same quality standards are guaranteed throughout Europe.

EUMETSAT is an intergovernmental organisation created through an international convention agreed by 17 European Member States : Austria, Belgium, Danemark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Luxembourg will soon become the 18th Member State. These States fund the EUMETSAT programmes and are the principal users of the systems. EUMETSAT also has four Cooperating States : Slovak Republic, Hungary, Poland and Croatia. EUMETSAT's primary objective is to establish, maintain and exploit European systems of operational meteorological satellites. EUMETSAT is responsible for the launch and operation of the satellites and for delivering satellite data to end-users as well as contributing to the operational monitoring of climate and the detection of global climate changes.

L'Association européenne de libre-échange a été fondée par l'Autriche, le Danemark, la Norvège, la Suède, la Suisse et la Grande-Bretagne en 1960 par le biais de la Convention de Stockholm. La première des 3 Communautés Européennes, instituée par le Traité de Paris du 18 avril 1951, entré en vigueur le 25 juillet 1952, elle est parfois dénommée Pool Charbon Acier ou Plan Schuman. Elle réalise entre ses Etats membres un Marché commun du charbon et de l'acier soumis à une gestion communautaire. La fusion des exécutifs, entrée en vigueur le 1er juillet 1967, a affecté la structure institutionnelle de la CECA mais non ses caractéristiques et activités propres. La CECA est, du point de vue théorique, considérée comme étant celle des 3 Communautés Européennes la plus supranationale mais de fait ceci est de moins en moins vrai par suite notamment des incidences de la crise sidérurgique. En vertu de l'article 97 du Traité de Paris, la durée de la CECA est limitée au 25 juillet 2002 à 50 ans après l'entrée en vigueur du Traité.

Al considerar el desenvolvimiento cronológico de la integración europea, debe concederse prioridad a la Comunidad Europea del Carbón y del Acero. La organización de ésta Comunidad precursora fue la concurrencia directa principal del Plan Schuman de organizar una constitución que unificara la producción franco-alemana de carbón y acero, anunciada el 9 de mayo de 1950 y qué, hasta el día de hoy, sigue siendo el documento fundamental de la Integración Europea. Constituye La CECA una organización regional establecida por el Tratado de París el 18 de abril de 1951 para armonizar las políticas de producción y crear un mercado común para el carbón, el mineral de hierro y acero. La relación del acero y el carbón como primeros objetos de la integración económica fue lógica puesto que esas dos industrias constituyen el fundamento de las sociedades industrializadas; además, existía la necesidad dentro de los seis países (Bélgica, Francia, Italia, Alemania, Luxemburgo y Países Bajos) de procurar la satisfacción eficiente y económica de la demanda interna del carbón y acero y también para competir ventajosamente en los mercados internacionales.

A head of mission may be accredited to more than one state, so long as the receiving states concerned have been duly notified and have raised no objection. Such multiple accreditation has often been found convenient for geographical reasons, or because it has been desired to limit expenditure on diplomatic missions. Subject to the same proviso, a member of the diplomatic staff of a mission may be similarly assigned to more than one state.

Multiple commission. It is quite customary for a diplomatic official to be accredited to several states at the same time... One of the most unusual instances of multiple representation occurred in 1942, when the United States accredited Anthony Drexel Biddle as Ambassador to the exiled governments of Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, and Poland, and as Minister of the exiled governments of Czechoslovakia, Greece, Yugoslavia, and Luxembourg.
