  • Geophysics
CONT

In solid-Earth physics the production of the gravity field model is not in itself the primary goal; rather the aim is the provision of a detailed three-dimensional image of density variations in the lithosphere and upper mantle, derived from a combination of gravity, seismic tomography, lithospheric magnetic-anomaly information and topographic models.

In adult Hodgkin's disease, doses of radiation usually vary between 3, 000 and 3, 600 cGy to clinically uninvolved sites, and 3, 500 to 4, 400 cGy to regions of initial nodal involvement... Treatment is usually delivered to the neck, chest, and axilla(mantle field) and then to an abdominal field to treat para-aortic nodes and the spleen(splenic pedicle)... Fiche 7 1985-03-06

Anglais

Subject field(s)
  • Plate Tectonics
CONT

By dating the sea floor on the basis of magnetic anomalies associated with reversals of the earth's magnetic field, the depth of the sea caused by the contraction of the plate can be estimated. Since the contraction is unrelated to the swells and depressions caused by circulation in the mantle, the depth determined from the age of the plate can be subtracted from the observed depth to obtain what is called the residual depth.

Français

Domaine(s)
  • Tectonique des plaques
CONT
