This allows the piston to open and water to flow from the sprinkler. When the snap disc cools to approximately 100°F, it closes the pilot valve.

... The Progress supply vehicle to the ISS [International Space Station] is an automated version of the Soyuz, and was developed to carry propellant and cargo to the Salyut and Mir space station. It will serve the same purpose for the ISS. Although the ISS has its own propulsion system, generally it is the Progress vehicle that will perform periodic reboost maneuvers to maintain the ISS orbital altitude. The Progress is approximately the same size as the Soyuz, but it has a slightly higher mass at launch of approximately 7150 kg. The Progress spacecraft docks automatically to the ISS, and the TORU [Teleoperated Control System-Manual Docking System on Zarya] system acts as a backup remote control docking system. Progress is composed of three modules : the Cargo Module, the Refueling Module, and the Instrument/Propulsion Module. A modified version of the Progress M, called the Progress M1, is planned for operation with the ISS. This version will have more propellant tanks for refueling, as the entire Refueling Module is devoted to fuel. Water will be carried in the Cargo Module. The Progress payload includes cargo in the pressurized Cargo Module and propellant in the Refueling Module. Excess propellant that is usually in the propulsion system tanks in the Instrumentation/Propulsion Module can also be used by the ISS.

L'horizon artificiel [...] sert à indiquer la position d'un avion par rapport à l'horizon terrestre symbolisé par une ligne séparant deux zones de couleurs différentes, l'une indiquant le ciel, l'autre la terre. L'attitude de l'avion est déduite de la position de cette ligne qui fournit des précisions sur le roulis et le tangage. Des marques sur les côtés précisent le degré d'inclinaison de l'avion et une bille située dans la partie inférieure informe le pilote du [taux de dérapage].

When specifying a mass flow control system, the first consideration is whether the process will take place at constant system pressure, constant throughput, and/or predetermined gas flow ratio. Another important consideration is whether system control will be automatic(microprocessor) or manual(setpoint potentiometers).... There are three major state-of-the-art systems that can be identified. The first uses a flowmeter(s)... as the primary transducer(s) to monitor mass flow. Using this format, a signal is compared in control circuitry to a setpoint signal. This generates an error voltage which is used to drive a valve, thus continuously controlling the flow. The second major type of system uses a pressure transducer as the primary sensing element. System pressure is held either constant or varied at a predetermined rate by controlling the mass flow rate of process gases. This leads to a third type of system that slaves valves and flowmeters to the primary sensing.

Few light vehicles will require the comprehensive gun stabilization systems used on the large tanks but changing from the manual/hydraulic gun and turret drives to all-electric drives will not only provide more precise gun control but improved laying and traversing rates.

Le remplacement de la conduite de tir n'est vraiment avantageux qu'à la condition de modifier aussi le dispositif de pointage de l'arme. Un système complet de stabilisation du canon comme en sont équipés les chars lourds ne se justifie pas sur un blindé léger mais en revanche, le remplacement des systèmes manuels ou hydrauliques par une commande de pointage «tout électrique» augmente non seulement la précision du tir mais également la vitesse de pointage en site et en gisement.
