It is a 520-kg spacecraft to be launched on ISAS's newly-developed M-5 rocket. Following a gravity-assist manoeuvre, it will fly as close as 40 km from the Moon and deploy three 13-kg seismic penetrators. These will burrow 30 cm into the lunar crust.
