A gender-based analysis(GBA) is a tool to both understand the local context and to support gender equality. A GBA examines the relationships between men and women, girls and boys, their access to resources, their activities, and the constraints they face relative to each other in a particular context. It identifies the varied roles played by women and men, girls and boys in the household, community, workplace, political processes and economy. These different roles often result in women having less access to and control over resources, and less participation and influence in decision-making processes. A GBA also considers how other intersecting identity factors such as race, ethnicity, LGBTQ2I [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirit, intersex], legal status, ability, language, religion, socio-economic status, and education, affect individual and group experiences, including among women and among men. Gender equality is not exclusively about women's or girls’ issues and is not only about working with or for women and girls. Men's and boys’ engagement is critical.

Chaque infraction est en effet composée de deux éléments : l'élément matériel ou l'actus reus et l'élément mental ou le mens rea.

La principale difficulté reliée à une définition de l'actus reus découle du fait que l'élément matériel varie dépendant de l'infraction. Dans le cas d'un homicide, c'est le résultat qui est incriminé eu égard au mode d'exécution utilisé. La mort pourrait être le résultat d'un empoisonnement, d'une strangulation ou d'un coup de feu. Par contre, pour le parjure, c'est la conduite qui est visée.

Son jugement ressemble d'une part à une décision disposant d'une affaire criminelle de la manière traditionnelle qui exige de la poursuite la preuve de l'actus reus et du mens rea. Mais il comporte encore plus de ressemblance avec un jugement disposant d'une affaire de responsabilité stricte.

Arrêt cité : Strasser c. Roberge, (1972) 2 R.S.C. 975. Dans cet arrêt, «actus reus» n'est pas traduit et prend en français le genre masculin tout comme le «mens rea» qui est l'autre élément constitutif de l'infraction.

Curling began to draw recognition as an organized sport back in 1927 when the first Macdonald Brier was played at the Granite Curling Club in Toronto.... An administrative body for the men's sport was created eight years later with the founding of the Dominion Curling Association on March 6, 1935. Thirty-two years later – in 1967, the year of Canada's centennial – the organization adjusted to the times and changed its name to the Canadian Curling Association.

Common-law Larceny, for example, requires both the physical act of taking and carrying away the property of another and the mental element of intent to steal the property. Similarly, common-law Burglary requires breaking and entering into the dwelling of another with an intent to commit a felony therein. These crimes and others that require a specific-intent element are called specific-intent crimes and are distinguished from general-intent crimes.
