Northern Pipeline Projects Ltd.(NPPL) was incorporated in Alberta in 2001 by the founding and current shareholders : the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada(PLCAC) ;the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada(UA) ;the International Union of Operating Engineers(IUOE) ;the Laborers’ International Union of North America(LIUNA) ;and Teamsters Canada(Teamsters). From its beginnings, NPPL has been proactive with a recognition that a new approach would be helpful in positioning its shareholders in Canada's north where there was an anticipation of extensive opportunities and a population with minimal if any experience with pipeline construction. The Business Integration Office(BIO), also included in the Office of the Director General ensures the effective operation of BGTD, including operational and strategic planning and performance measurement. Within BGTD, this Office manages broad projects of a strategic nature(both long term and emerging). The Canadian Hardware and Housewares Manufacturers Association(CHHMA) has been serving the Hardware and Housewares industry since 1968. Initially, the CHHMA was a lobby group formed to represent the interests of manufacturers to government and retail/distributor customers. Blueprint For The Future(BFF) is a series of one-day career fairs held in two different Canadian cities each year. These fairs were designed for Aboriginal youth from grades 10 to 12 to increase the awareness of employment opportunities and associated training requirements in diverse sectors of the Canadian workforce. At each fair, the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation organizes more than 1, 200 and 1, 600 Aboriginal youth from across a given province to attend presentations by up to 100 business leaders(both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal), as well as the recipients and national jury of the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards.

The Community Access Program(CAP) is a government of Canada initiative, administered by Industry Canada, that aims to provide Canadians with affordable public access to the Internet and skills they need to use it effectively. With the combined efforts of the federal, provincial and territorial governments, community groups, social agencies libraries, schools, volunteer groups and business community, CAP helps Canadians, wherever they live, take advantage of emerging opportunities in the new global knowledge-based economy.
