The Chemawawin Indian Band is located adjacent to the community of Easterville of the South-East shore of Cedar Lake. In 1963, the band was relocated from this site when the Grand Rapids hydro station was constructed and extensive areas of the reserve were flooded. The band chose the Denbeigh Point area as reserve No. 3 on Lake Winnipegosis as a land entitlement under the Grand Rapids Forebay Agreement. The band is signatory to Treaty 5 signed in 1875.

The Zarya control module, also known by the technical term Functional Cargo Block and the Russian acronym FGB, was the first component launched for the International Space Station and provides the station's initial propulsion and power.... The U. S.-funded and Russian-built Zarya, which means Sunrise when translated to English, is a U. S. component of the station although it was built and launched by Russia.... The Zarya module is 41. 2 feet long and 13. 5 feet wide at its widest point. It has an operational lifetime of at least 15 years. Its solar arrays and six nickel-cadmium batteries can provide an average of 3 kilowatts of electrical power. Using the Russian Kurs system, the Zarya will perform an automated and remotely piloted rendezvous and docking with the Service Module in orbit. Its docking power will accommodate Russian Soyuz piloted spacecraft and unpiloted Progress resupply spacecraft. Each of the two solar arrays is 35 feet long and 11 feet wide. The module's 16 fuel tanks combined can hold more than 6 tons of propellant. The attitude control system for the module includes 24 large steering jets and 12 small steering jets. Two large engines are available for reboosting the spacecraft and making major orbital changes.

The Binary Colloidal Alloy Test-3 is an Exploration Systems’ transition flight experiment in the Human System Research and Technology area. BCAT-3 provides a unique opportunity to explore fundamental physics and simultaneously develop important future technology, including computers operating on light, complex biomolecular pharmaceuticals, clean sources of geothermal power, and novel rocket engines for interplanetary travel. These studies depend entirely on the microgravity environment provided by the International Space Station(ISS) ;in all other locations accessible to science, gravity dominates and precludes investigation of any other effects of interest. The experiment itself [consists of] photographing samples of colloidal particles with a digital camera onboard the ISS. Colloids are tiny nanoscale spheres of plexiglass a thousand times smaller than the width of a human hair(submicron radius) that are suspended in a fluid. They are ubiquitous(e. g., milk, smoke, and paint) and therefore interesting to study directly. Colloids are also small enough that they behave much like atoms and so can be used to model all sorts of phenomena because their size, shape, and interactions can be controlled. The 10 samples in BCAT-3 are made from the same ingredients, each a recipe with different proportions, and are grouped into three experiments : critical point, binary alloy, and surface crystallization. [Text followed by an illustration of a BCAT-3 sample holder. ]

BCAT-3 is comprised of three separate experiments, which are individually referred to as a binary alloy(BCAT-3-BA), surface crystallization(BCAT-3-SC) and critical point(BCAT-3-CP). The critical point investigation is continuing with additional samples on future ISS [International Space Station] expeditions and will be referred to as Binary Colloidal Alloy Test-4. BCAT-4 will consist of two sets of samples referred to as BCAT-3 and 4 : Critical Point(BCAT-3-4-CP) and BCAT-4 : Polydisperse(BCAT-4-Poly).... The Binary Colloidal Alloy Test-3(BCAT-3) hardware supported three investigations in which ISS crews photographed samples of colloidal particles(tiny nanoscale spheres suspended in liquid) to document liquid/gas phase changes, growth of binary crystals, and the formation of colloidal crystals confined to a surface. Colloids are small enough that in a microgravity environment without sedimentation and convection, they behave much as atoms and so can be used to model all sorts of phenomena because their size, shape, and interactions can be controlled. The BCAT-3 payload consists of ten small samples of colloid alloys in which the microscopic colloid particles are mixed together into a liquid. These ten samples are contained within a small case that is the size of a school textbook. At the start of an experiment run, all ten samples are shaken to completely remix the colloid samples, much in the same way that salad dressing must be shaken to remix oil and vinegar. After the samples are mixed, what remains is periodically photographed using a digital camera until the colloid and liquid components of those samples have separated or the polymers have formed crystals. The samples can be remixed to repeat the experiment. The ten samples in BCAT-3 were selected as part of three separate experiments examining different physical processes : critical point, binary alloys, and surface crystallization.

In this technique the accumulation at a given station is plotted against the average accumulation for a group of stations. Currently, only one temperature reading in the aft flight deck of the orbiter is available for adjusting model predictions for real-time environments. Micro-WIS will also reduce the time it takes the crew to obtain on-orbit temperature measurements and will increase the capability to monitor temperatures over long periods.... Micro-WIS data will also be used to validate cabin air temperature models that are used to make critical predictions of the dew point on early ISS [International Space Station] missions, which is important because orbiter cabin air exerts a significant influence on the entire station volume. Although the physical configuration of the air ducts in the orbiter cabin has been changed significantly, the sensors have remained the same and some temperature data has never been available.

Ces dispositifs sont similaires aux gyroscopes et sont utilisés pour contrôler l'orientation de la sonde - son positionnement sur 3 axes - pour qu'elle montre la face désirée. La désaturation préparent les volants d'inertie pour la tâche de tourner Odyssey dans la bonne position pour la poussée d'insertion orbitale.

The Automated transfer Vehicle(ATV) is the European Transportation system supporting the International Space Station. A detailed analytical cargo accommodation for each single cargo has to be performed in order to meet the NASA plan(Cargo Manifest). From the cargo accommodation point of view, the ATV consists of an unpressurized module and a pressurized module. Accommodation rules are given for the unpressurized, pressurized and overall cargo.

The final phase of rendezvous operations begins about three hours prior to Atlantis’ docking with the ISS [International Space Station]. Atlantis will approach the ISS from below, in what is referred to as a plus-R bar approach, to minimize the effects of jet thruster firings on the station and its solar arrays. About 40 minutes before the terminal initiation burn(Ti burn) when Atlantis moves within 135, 000 feet of the station, the shuttle's rendezvous radar system is activated to provide supplemental navigation information. Prior to initiating the Ti burn, the crew will power on the ODS [Orbital Docking System] and activate Atlantis's docking lights. A series of course correction burns will bring Atlantis to a point almost directly below and behind the station, at which point Commander Ken Cockrell initiates the manual portion of his approach to the ISS. Atlantis will intercept the R-bar about 700 feet below the station. Cockrell will slowly move Atlantis to a point about 600 feet below the station before performing a 180 degree yaw maneuver to position Atlantis in a "tail forward" attitude for the final approach and docking.

The [continuous extrusion blow-molding] process has three subcategories : the rising mold method, the rotary method, and the shuttle method....
