Geomembranes made in situ(ie, at the construction site) are usually continuous(ie, with no seam) and are made by spraying or otherwise placing a hot or cold viscous material onto a substrate. The geomembranes made by spraying are commonly referred to as "spray-applied geomembranes" or "spray-on geomembranes". The base product of the sprayed material is commonly asphalt, an asphalt-elastomer compound... or a polymer such as polyurethane. The sprayed material forms a continuous flexible film with little or no tack after curing. If the material is applied onto an existing surface(ie, earth or concrete) the spray-applied geomembrane is non-reinforced. Polymer concrete(PC), or resin concrete, consists of a polymer binder which may be a thermoplastic but more frequently is a thermosetting polymer, and a mineral filler such as aggregate, gravel and crushed stone. Le béton de résine est constitué d'un liant de polymère, parfois thermoplastique mais généralement thermodurcissable, et d'une charge minérale comme le gravier ou la pierre concassée. Les superplastifiants réducteurs d'eau (à base de naphtalène sulphonate ou de résine mélamine) assurent, par action électrostatique, une ouvrabilité correcte pendant un temps suffisant, lorsque le rapport E/C décroît. Ils conduisent à une défloculation des grains de ciment et restituent au ciment en suspension dans l'eau sa granularité propre.
