The atomizing type of burner prepares the oil for burning by breaking it up into a fog-like vapor. A blower is used to supply the air for combustion, and a damper or other adjustable means regulates the air supply at the burner. Ignition is usually established by a high voltage electric spark which may be intermittent, sometimes called constant ignition(on when the burner motor is on) or interrupted(on only to start combustion). L'auteur de la source MOMON utilise le terme "brûleur à pulvérisation mécanique par pression" pour désigner le "brûleur à pulvérisation par pression d'huile". Ce terme m'apparaît ambigu puisqu'il pourrait tout autant se rapporter aux "brûleurs à pulvérisation par fluides auxiliaires" dont le fluide est pulvérisé sous pression.
