Rhizobium. Fixatrices d'azote atmosphérique, ces bactéries se développent sur les racines et forment des nodules (nodosités), visibles chez de nombreuses légumineuses. Elles fournissent ainsi de l'azote organique aux plantes hôtes, qui le fixent au niveau de leurs organes aériens et souterrains.
