Ventilateurs-extracteurs de toiture. Ils sont souvent utilisés pour assurer le renouvellement d'air des usines, entre autres celles où il y a d'importants dégagements de chaleur (fonderies, aciéries, etc.), mais aussi pour la ventilation des toilettes et cuisines. Ils sont presque toujours installés en toiture. L'introduction d'air a lieu en été par les portes et les fenêtres, ou mieux encore, surtout en hiver, est assurée par une installation d'insufflation mécanique.

Extracteurs de toiture. Il existe une troisième famille de ventilateurs spécialement destinée à l'extraction d'air vicié des locaux et qui sont conçus pour être installés en toiture des bâtiments.

The batch-in-bin drying process involves using a bin as a batch dryer. A 3 to 4-foot deep layer of grain is placed in the bin and the fan and heater started. Typical drying air temperatures are 120 to 160F with airflow rates of 8 to 15 cfm/bushel. Drying begins at the floor and progresses upward. Grain at the floor of the bin becomes excessively dry while the top layer of the batch remains fairly wet. The grain is cooled in the bin after it is dried. Some batch-in-bin dryers hold the grain being dried in a layer near the roof. After the grain is dried it is dropped to the bin floor where it is cooled. As the grain is moved from the bin, the grain is mixed, and the average moisture content going into final storage should be low enough that mold growth will not be a problem.

Makes a dramatic difference to roof space temperatures. The in roof Fan changes air in the roof space between 50 and 70 times per hour, too fast for heat to build up much beyond the outside temperature. You would need 30 or more whirly type wind turbines and a strong breeze to achieve this rate of airflow.... Existing "whirly birds" can be incorporated as part of the exhaust system but have to be supplemented with additional vents as their free air area is far too small.

La compagnie [Ventilation Maximum] offre [...] des ventilateurs statiques pour remplacer les vieilles turbines de ventilation. Ces turbines sont souvent bruyantes ou bloquées, elles peuvent aussi causer des infiltrations de neige. Le ventilateur statique évitera ces problèmes et peut être installé directement sur l'ancienne ouverture prévue pour la turbine. L'étanchéité du toit ne sera donc pas touchée par ce remplacement.

In addition to the axial and centrifugal fan classifications, a third class for special designs exists. This classification covers tubular centrifugal fans and axial-centrifugal, power roof ventilators. The tubular centrifugal type is often used a return-air fan in low-pressure HVAC systems. Air is discharged from the impeller in the same way as in standard centrifugal fans and then changed 90 ° in direction through straightening vanes.
