The game of quoits is played on a ’rink’, the object being to toss a quoit(a round piece of iron with a round hole in the middle) onto an immovable hub or pin set in the ground, or failing this to get nearer to the pin than one's opponent. Measurements are taken from the central point of the hub. Two pins are used : they are set at least 18 feet apart and are surrounded by beds of clay 4 ft 6 in. in diameter; only one inch of the pin is left exposed. The quoits are thrown at one pin from a line level with the other pin, and should either lodge over the pin or dig into the clay. Each player throws two quoits.

While the SFCS has a number of features and capabilities designed to vastly improve target identification and hand-off among a number of operators, its core is a muzzle velocity sensor. The system sits on the Picatinny rail of any weapon and draws on a number of acoustic sensors to characterize how the weapon is performing between the time the primer of a round is struck and the bullet leaves the barrel.... Meteorological and other sensor inputs are fed into a ballistics computation that then gives a range azimuth correction to the operator. It helps the operator correct his aim point so that his probability of hit for second, third and fourth rounds is that much more accurate.

The first type of precision airdrop is a single system called AGAS(Affordable Guided Airdrop System) that uses in-service round cargo parachutes. A detailed knowledge of the wind patterns at the drop location is used to calculate the required flight path and drop point. The flight path is maintained by the system's ability to pull slips which dump air from one side of the canopy. By incorporating wind data with this limited method of steering, the system has proven capable of landing an average of 48 meters away from the intended grid reference when deployed from 13 000 ft above ground level. This accuracy is phenomenal given that the present LF freefall cylinder rarely even hits a large drop zone when deployed from 5, 000 feet above ground evel(AGL). AGAS is the cheapest precision airdrop system presently available.

First, the beets are cleaned in a beet washer. Then, a machine called a slicer is used to cut the beets into long strips that look like shoestring potatoes or noodles. The water and sugar juice are saved, and this solution is called "raw juice. "... The raw juice is treated with lime and carbon dioxide gas to clean the mixture again. It is sent through a big, round filter to clean it and remove other non-sugars. The raw juice goes into a series of big tanks called evaporators where some of the water is boiled off. At this point, the mixture contains more sugar than water. It is a thick-like syrup and is again filtered to make sure it is very clean.

This one draws from the bottom of the tank and pumps the wort through an external housing containing steam coils(called a calandria). The wort is then passed back through the MIDDLE of the tank(below the wort level) and shot through a "boiling fountain" to a point above the wort level where it is dispersed by an adjustable spreader and allowed to fall onto the surface of the wort.

The most useful part of it is the top right corner, which has 1 : 50, 000 scale map gradations(divisions of a grid square) marked along and down it, counting backwards from the corner. When you place the correct numbered marks on the grid lines of the map, the corner of the romer shows the point the map reference refers to. This is essential for accurate plotting of 6 and 8 figure map references. Most romers have a hole in them; it's a good idea to loop a piece of string through it and hang it round your neck so you don’t lose it under the seat.

The "disk closure" is another plug-orifice type, a two-piece design consisting of an orifice closure base and a plug fitment hinged to a round disk which is set into the closure top. By pressing upon the access point, the disk fitment swings up upon its hinges, deactivating the plug seal from the orifice for one-handed dispension.
