A virtual reality headset may block the view of the outside or real world from the user in order immerse the user in the images presented by the headset. By blocking the view of the outside world, the user’s senses are focused on the images, thereby engaging the user in the experience. This can help to make the experience more realistic.

In a general aspect, a virtual reality headset can include a plurality of structural components, where each structural component can be formed from a respective cardboard sheet. The plurality of structural components being folded to form the VR headset. The plurality of structural components can include a plurality of flaps that define an opening for placement of the VR headset near or against a face of a user in a first configuration of the VR headset an internal wall of the VR headset, a bottom wall of the VR headset, a lens frame assembly, a top wall of the VR headset and an enclosure flap hingeably coupled with the bottom wall of the VR headset. The enclosure flap can be configured, in the first configuration of the VR headset, to secure an electronic device in the VR headset against the internal wall. In a second configuration of the VR headset, the enclosure flap can be configured to enclose the plurality of flaps that define the opening between the internal wall and the enclosure flap.

Gaskets for Glazing. Structural gaskets, made of preformed and cured elastomeric materials, may be used instead of sash for some applications to hold glass in places. Gaskets are extruded in a single strip, molded into the shape of the window perimeter and installed against the glass and window frames. A continuous locking strip of harder elastomer is then forced into one side of the gasket as a final sealing component. Fit and compression of the gasket determine weathertightness. With proper installation, calking is not ordinarily required; but should it be necessary, sealants are available that are compatible with the material of which the gasket is made. Canadarm2 and the MBS, its platform, are essential tools for the assembly of the ISS.... The Space Station Remote Manipulator System(SSRMS), known as Canadarm2, is the first component of the Mobile Servicing System. Although similar to the Shuttle Canadarm, this 17-metre manipulator is somewhat larger and incorporates many advanced features, including the ability to self relocate. The arm has the capacity to handle large ISS modules and structural elements. It will initially be used to assemble the Station. In the future, it will capture and dock unmanned resupply spacecraft to the ISS and perform routine maintenance tasks. Canadarm2 will normally move along the Space Station on the Mobile Base System, but it also has the ability to "walk" from place to place by moving from one grapple fixture on the exterior of the structure to the next, like an inchworm.... It is equipped with four television cameras, two mounted on the booms and one near each tip. These cameras feed images to the astronauts operating the arm from the Robotic Workstation inside the Station. An advanced version of the Canadian Space Vision System improves the ability of Canadarm2 operators to keep track of the position, orientation and movement of payloads being grappled.

CMC Blisk Material Development and Testing. Engineers at MSFC are developing fabrication processes and designs for ceramic matrix composite(CMC) components through material and component testing, structural modeling, microscopy, and nondestructive analysis techniques. CMCs will be utilized extensively on future generation launch vehicles for propulsion systems and for vehicle hot structure. They are necessary to enable lightweight components capable of operating over a wide temperature range. These advantages translate into increased safety and lower cost compared to state-of-the-art materials. MSFC is primarily responsible for developing CMCs and transitioning them into propulsion applications such as cooled and radiation cooled flow paths, thrust chambers, integrally bladed disks(blisks) and nozzles. Hot structures for leading edge and control surface applications are also supported.

DIDO Experiment Container is essentially a box with a side length of 150 mm. Design philosophy of DIDO experiment foreseen an "all inside" approach, so(at this moment) the experiment container is a mere box with no windows or openings, or relevant external features. DIDO EC is intended as a structural part for the inside experiment; only mechanical, electrical and data interfaces are required to connect DIDO EC with GLAD facility. The box is assembled as one piece but the topside is removable to have access to DIDO experiment. In this way the topside component works as a cover plate. The EC is made by(TBD) material and to meet safety requirements EC' s corners are slightly rounded, materials must not be flammable and machined with non-toxic surface treatment. Cover plate is connected with the box through screws. The bottom side, instead, compose the "first plate" of DIDO experiment, housing tanks and pumping system. Another plate placed about half height provides a "second plate" for DIDO cell and relative optics, laser unit and CCD camera.
