The Royal Victorian Chain is an award, instituted in 1902 by King Edward VII as a personal award of the Monarch(i. e. not an award by the British or any other Commonwealth Realm government). Although it is similar in appearance to the Royal Victorian Order, the two awards are unrelated. The Royal Victorian Chain does not confer upon its recipients any style or title-in fact, the Chain is not even given a precedence within any Commonwealth honours system-but it represents a personal token of high distinction and esteem from the Monarch. The Chain can be conferred upon men and women, both of the Realms and foreign. The chain is in gold, decorated with motifs of Tudor rose, Thistle, Shamrock and Lotus Flower(symbolizing England, Scotland, Ireland and India respectively), and a crowned, red enamelled cipher of King Edward VII "ERI"(Edwardus Rex Imperator), surrounded by a gold wreath for men, upon which the badge is suspended. The chain is worn around the collar by men, or with the four motifs and some chain links fixed to a riband in the form of bow(blue with red-white-red edges) on the left shoulder by women. However the Queen's sister Princess Margaret in later life wore her chain around the collar, as male recipients do.

The first world championship in our sport was organized in 1987 in France, and eight national shooting federations founded the "Union Internationale des Federations et Associations Nationales de Tir" on 7th July 1907 in Zurich, Switzerland... The French title of the "International Union of National Federations and Associations of Shooting" started to use the initials, UIT. This union was dissolved in 1915 during World War I but was reorganized in 1921 under the new name of "Union Internationale de Tir", also using the initials, UIT. After World War II had started, the activities of the Union were again suspended and then reorganized in 1947 under the new name, "International Shooting Union", using the title in the English language which from then on was decided to be the official working language of the organization. The initials of the International Shooting Union would have been ISU, but our organization had to continue using the letters of its French title, UIT, in order not to confuse it with the initials used in the international sport world by the International Skating Union... The change of the title "Union" to International Shooting Sport Federation(ISSF) in order to conform to almost all the other sporting organisations was officially approved at the General Assembly in Barcelona, Spain on 15th July 1998.

(1) La Commission peut désigner toute personne qu'elle estime qualifiée - nommément, par catégorie ou par désignation de son poste - pour remplir les fonctions de fonctionnaire désigné; le cas échéant, elle lui remet un certificat faisant état des fonctions qu'elle est autorisée à exercer. (2) La Commission peut autoriser le fonctionnaire désigné à : a) homologuer l'équipement réglementé pour l'application de la présente loi ou en annuler l'homologation; b) attester la compétence des personnes visées à l'alinéa 44(1)k) pour accomplir leurs fonctions, ou retirer leur attestation; c) délivrer les licences ou les permis qui relèvent de catégories établies par la Commission, sur demande faite conformément au paragraphe 24(2); d) renouveler, suspendre en tout ou en partie, modifier, révoquer ou remplacer les licences ou les permis visés à l'alinéa c), sur demande faite conformément au paragraphe 24(2); e) désigner, à titre d'analyste ou d'inspecteur, toute personne qu'il estime qualifiée au titre de l'article 28 ou du paragraphe 29(1); f) donner les ordres qu'un inspecteur peut donner en vertu des paragraphes 35(1) ou (2); g) confirmer, modifier, annuler ou remplacer un ordre donné par un inspecteur; h) autoriser le retour au travail des personnes ayant reçu une dose de rayonnement supérieure à la limite réglementaire.

A technique devised to permit trading in a security, even though the security does not fulfil the requirements for listing on the local stock exchange. A security is bought and registered in the name of the depositary bank or company, which will issue a receipt certifying that the receipt conveys the title to the security deposited with it or held to its order. If the receipt is in bearer form, it can then be freely bought and sold, whereas direct dealing in the stock would have needed registration of the new owner's name every time the security changed hands.
