The Spanish term "cordaje" and the French cognate "cordage" are both collective nouns that denote the set of strings that make up the "stringbed". Another appropriate English equivalent would be "racquet strings"-in the plural. In comparison, the singular term "cuerda" denotes the thin material we call "string" in English. When used in the plural, "cuerdas" and "cordes" are synonomous with "cordaje" and "cordage" respectively. Another point to watch out for : the Spanish term "cordaje" is polysemous. It can denote the process of putting strings on a tennis racquet(=stringing) or it can denote the end product, i. e. the set of strings found on a tennis racquet. Nova Scotia Sea Parsley TM is OPI's first unique sea vegetable. Sea Parsley TM is a natural, miniature variation of the ancient and well-known sea plant, dulse(Palmaria palmata). Discovered in the clean, cold waters of the Bay of Fundy in 1978, Sea Parsley TM is an attractive, burgundy-coloured plant which grows in 4-6 centimeter florets. Since the plant is grown mariponically(in saltwater tanks in greenhouses), quality product is available on a year round basis.

A Unique Freeze Dryer Shelf and Condenser Chilling System. Most lyophilizers(freeze dryers) are designed with a single refrigeration system, which is required to switch from product chilling to condenser cooling in the lyophilization phase. If the shelf heating cycle should demand both cooling and heating to maintain a given temperature set point during the drying phase(as is the case with long and slow shelf temperature rises), the refrigeration system must operate in the dual role of cooling both the shelves and the condenser in order to maintain operational vacuum. If the sublimation rate from the product is high, this can often result in the refrigeration systems inability to meet both requirements. Most manufacturers attempt to compensate for these conditions by oversizing the compressor, which can lead to overloading in the terminal phase, resulting in reducing compressor life and reliability.

Our environmental doors are a creative and important alternative to standard door construction. This unique product line uses wood materials that lumber mills typically discard by burning. Our doors are made from a reformed product, known as medium density MDF, to create door panels that accept our beautiful design work. Executive Door is proud to be part of the solution in eliminating the burning of wood waste. Environmental door panels do not require the harvesting of even one additional tree.

Theoretical studies have shown the potential scientific value of multi-spacecraft radio tomographic imaging of the magnetosphere. The <10 RE WIND perigee passes during August 2000 afforded a unique opportunity to test and verify the capabilities of radio tomography by measuring interspacecraft electromagnetic wave propagation parameters using the Radio Plasma Imager(RPI) on IMAGE as the transmitter and the WAVES instrument on WIND as the receiver.... We show how changes in the path-integrated electron density/magnetic field product can be unambiguously measured from this continuous, low signal to noise ratio, single frequency measurement.

Extruded polystyrene [XEPS] foam begins with solid polystyrene crystals. The crystals, along with special additives and a blowing agent, are fed into an extruder. Within the extruder the mixture is combined and melted, under controlled conditions of high temperature and pressure, into a viscous plastic fluid. The hot, thick liquid is then forced in a continuous process through a die. As it emerges from the die it expands to a foam, is shaped, cooled, and trimmed to dimension. This continuous extrusion process results in a unique foam product with a uniform closed-cell structure, a smooth continuous skin, and consistent product qualities, qualities unequaled by other insulation types.

Extruded polystyrene foam ... There is considerable confusion about extruded foam, mainly because it is made by many different companies, and appears in many different colors and densities. There is "artboard", green foam, pink foam, gray foam, blue foam and more. All of these are extruded polystyrene. The lowest density extruded styrene foams all range about 1.75 pounds per cubic foot. Curiously, extruded foam panels from the same manufacturer exhibit considerable variation in density ... ranging from 1.8 to 2.1 pounds per cubic foot, all in the same batch. ... Different manufacturers also produce different qualities of extruded foam. Some foam seems to have more impurities and air bubbles than others.

Il existe actuellement deux principaux types de mousse de polystyrène : la mousse extrudée et la mousse moulée. [...] La mousse extrudée. Pour produire ce type de mousse on commence par fondre une matière plastique à base de polystyrène contenant un agent gonflant (moussant) à température élevée et sous pression, ensuite, la masse fondue est extrudée dans l'atmosphère à travers une fente; à ce point, la masse subit une expansion qui peut atteindre environ 40 fois son volume initial. Elle est extrudée sous forme de planche ayant une pellicule superficielle continue ou bien de grosses billettes qui peuvent être découpées en planches normalisées ou usinées pour leur donner toute autre forme désirée. Les outils servant à travailler le bois (manuels ou électriques) sont employés ordinairement pour donner aux matières plastiques alvéolaires la forme voulue, bien que le découpage à la scie à fil permette d'obtenir une surface plus lisse. Les mousses extrudées ont une structure plus simple et plus régulière que les mousses moulées; elles ont aussi une résistance mécanique plus élevée et une plus haute résistance à l'eau.
