In practice, a combination framework is probably the most useful type of framework for urban sustainability indicators. The advantage of a combination framework is that it can consolidate the advantages of several individual frameworks while simultaneously overcoming some of their weaknesses. CMHC has developed a combination domain-based/sectoral framework known as the Community Oriented Model of the Lived Environment(COMLE).
