Auditory feedback is the relative loudness level at which telephone users are able to hear their voice. With conventional wired telephones, an audio signal is fed back to the user's own earpiece so they can hear their voice at a predetermined loudness level. This audio signal is sometimes called sidetone. Persons speaking on the phone naturally will tend to adjust the loudness level of their voice to produce a comfortable level of audio in the earpiece. In contrast, wireless mobile cellular telephones do not generally provide feedback of a user's own voice in the receiver. Consequently, they tend to speak at relatively loud levels that are sometimes annoying to those around them.

Détecteurs réalisés selon la technique d’implantation ionique «planaire». La technologie de fabrication des détecteurs [au] silicium a beaucoup évolué au cours du dernier demi-siècle grâce aux progrès de la microélectronique. Aujourd’hui, on utilise le procédé d’implantation passivée planaire (ou Implantation Planar Process) qui a complètement supplanté les techniques de fabrication des détecteurs à barrière de surface ou à jonction diffusée. La technique actuelle basée sur l’utilisation d’implanteurs (accélérateurs d’ions de faible énergie), permet de réaliser des jonctions abruptes et minces grâce à un contrôle très précis de la position en profondeur des dopants (B pour type P et As pour type N) à l’intérieur d’un substrat de Si (réduction de la zone morte du dispositif) de haute résistivité (de type N–). Celui-ci est recouvert d’une couche mince de passivation (SiO2) afin de minimiser les courants de fuite de surface. Un traitement chimique par photolithographie permet de définir la géométrie finale du détecteur.

MILES is a system the Army uses for wargames. You mount a small box, the transmitter, on the end of the barrel of your weapon, and wear a harness that has several straps on the front and back with infrared receptors on them. You also have a key that is normally in the transmitter to enable it. The transmitter has a microphone in it, and whenever a shot is fired, the sound causes it to fire a coded IR laser beam. The sensors on the harness are wired to a box on the back which detects when you have been hit. If you are, a beeper starts sounding loudly. To turn it off you have to take the key out of the transmitter, thus disabling it, and put it in a switch in the harness. Then you are "dead", and have to wait for an observer to come around with a special key that can reset the harness. They can also use the God gun, which is so called because it can fire pulses that will "kill" you like the other transmitters, but it can also fire pulses that reset your harness(bring you back to life...)

SIR... stands for Standard Interface Rack. SIR is a system for integrating hardware. It is a technology we use to take Earth things to space. The rack contains mechanical parts, called a liner, used to slide drawers in and out, much like a file cabinet. Drawers are used to contain or repackage things and make them flight ready. For example, we can’t take computers to space in the same outer packages or cases we use on Earth because some pieces may float out or the vibration from launch would destroy them. So, we take all the computer's guts from the central processing unit(its brain) and repackage it in one of these drawers. On the rack side, the SIR also provides power and data for the drawers through cables. Power for a drawer comes from a connector in the rack, just like a wall outlet at your house. Data cables serve many purposes, but the main one is for communication. This is so drawers can "talk" to each other, the Space Station, and Earth. For the computer drawer mentioned above, parts are wired to connectors in the drawer. When you slide the drawer into the rack, it connects to cables already in the rack.
