Anémométrie à fils chauds. [...] Cette méthode de mesure permet d'accéder à la vitesse locale et instantanée de l'écoulement étudié au voisinage du fil. [...] L'anémométrie à fils chauds repose sur les échanges thermiques entre le fluide en mouvement et un fil conducteur chauffé et placé dans cet écoulement. Lorsqu'une variation de vitesse du fluide survient au voisinage du fil, il en résulte une modification du transfert de chaleur entre le fil et le fluide. Éléments chauffants : thermistance ou filament. Le fonctionnement d'un détecteur muni de filaments métalliques [...] Il est courant d'utiliser dans le bloc 4 filaments qui forment les quatre branches du pont de Wheatstone. Deux filaments opposés sont placés dans la cavité référence, les deux autres dans la cavité à 2 filaments. Les thermistances sont également utilisées comme éléments chauffants d'un détecteur à conductibilité thermique. Mais à la différences des filaments métalliques, leur coefficient de température est négatif, et la variation de la résistance en fonction de la température est exponentielle. En conséquence, la sensibilité est élevée aux basses températures, mais cette sensibilité chute très rapidement lorsque la température augmente. Hot-wire anemometer ... is an important device used principally in research on air turbulence and boundary layers. There are two types, known as constant-voltage and constant-temperature. The cooling of an electrically heated fine wire placed in a gas stream which alters wire resistance depends on the fluid velocity.
