The purposes of the association are: to maintain and improve the quality of education at Vancouver Island University; to maintain the right of the individual to exercise independent judgment, in the planning and execution of his or her educational responsibilities; to represent the opinions of the members in direct communication with the Vancouver Island University Board, the student body, and the community; to be the sole representative of its members, as certified under the B.C.
