On ne peut guère tenir compte de la nature de la dysphonie qui se rencontre dans la quasi-totalité des affections organiques ou fonctionnelles du larynx. La discussion porte sur l'immobilité d'une corde découverte lors de l'endoscopie. On éliminera ainsi facilement l'aphonie pithiatique. L'anamnèse permet de retrouver souvent un traumatisme émotionnel, un stress, un conflit affectif, une situation dépressive.
