El freiberger, caballo suizo conocido antiguamente como Franches Montagnes, es un caballo de peso medio-ligero idóneo para las tareas agrícolas y como animal de tiro. Es originario de los montes Jura en la frontera franco-suiza donde aún es muy utilizado por los granjeros que poseen tierras en sus laderas, en especial por su carácter vivo y sus firmes cascos.
