Les sens du substantif «appréhension» correspondent généralement à ceux du verbe «appréhender». Les dictionnaires signalent, toutefois, qu'«appréhension» ne s'emploie plus aujourd'hui au sens d'«arrestation», alors qu'«apprehension» en anglais a conservé ce sens.
