The Universal Esperanto Association was founded in 1908 as an organization of individual Esperantists. Currently UEA is the largest international organization for Esperanto speakers and has members in 117 countries. L'Association mondiale d’espéranto(Universala Esperanto-Asocio, ou UEA) a été créée en 1908 comme rassemblement d’espérantistes individuels. UEA est maintenant la plus importante association internationale consacrée à l'espéranto et a des membres dans 117 pays. La Asociación Universal de Esperanto (UEA por su nombre en Esperanto) fue fundada en 1980 como una organización de esperantistas individuales. Actualmente UEA es la organización internacional más grande para los hablantes de Esperanto y tiene miembros en 117 países. EUA trabaja no solamente para difundir el Esperanto, sino también para estimular la discusión sobre el problema lingüístico mundial y llamar la atención sobre la necesidad de igualdad entre los idiomas.
