Trouble panique avec agoraphobie : certains individus ayant des attaques de panique récurrentes modifient leurs comportements de manière importante(par ex., abandonnent leur emploi). Les craintes portant sur une nouvelle attaque ou ses implications sont souvent associées au développement de comportements d’évitement(par ex., éviter de prendre l'autobus ou d’aller dans les centres d’achats) pouvant être reliés aux critères d’une agoraphobie. Trouble panique sans agoraphobie : ce trouble se caractérise par la présence d’attaques de panique récurrentes et inattendues associées à la crainte persistante pendant au moins un mois, d’en revivre une autre. De plus, celui-ci est relié à des préoccupations quant aux conséquences possibles de ces attaques de panique et à un changement significatif de comportement découlant des AP [attaques de panique].
