Pentachlorophenol is the most widely used of the chlorinated phenols in wood preservation. Le pentachlorophénol est le dérivé phénolique chloré le plus utilisé dans la préservation du bois. C'est un agent chimique organique extrêmement efficace qui, dissous dans des huiles de pétrole lourdes en concentration de 3 à 5 %, sert à préserver le bois.
