The main activity of the coastal Crees was goose hunting; their hunting and trapping territories were not very far away and did not require the use of a canoe ... The inland Crees, more numerous than those of the coast and occupying the land at a distance from the coast, only came to the post once a year to exchange their furs; they were the main suppliers of pelts.

There are four ways to express an indigenous collectivity in English: 1) with the plural inflection "-s"; 2) if the collectivity does not apply to a subgroup, with the use of the term "nation", as in the Cree nation; 3) with the use of the word "people", as in the Huron and Cree peoples; 4) with the use of the definite article, e.g. The Cree of the coast make up the aboriginal nation occupying the Haute-Mauricie region. Since the "-s" is redundant, this author prefers the use of the definite article (e.g. the Cree, the Haida, etc.). However the use of "nation" is the option preferred most by the Native peoples of Canada, for political reasons.

Distress calls is the term commonly used to describe the sounds emitted by a bird under different conditions of stress. They have also been called warning calls, agony calls, etc. .... The bird should be persuaded to give a distress call which is recorded on magnetic tape. When it is required to drive away birds of that species, the call is played back through a loudspeaker. Provided that the call is the correct one and it is played back over suitable equipment, good results can be obtained in dispersing birds by this method.

Le Conseil Cri de la santé et des services sociaux de la Baie James est un organisme créé en 1978 à la suite de la signature de la Convention de la Baie James et du Nord Québécois.
