The Supreme Court of Canada is the court of last resort (or the highest court) in Canada. As the final general court of appeal it is the last judicial resort of all litigants. Its jurisdiction embraces both the civil law of the province of Quebec and the common law of the other nine provinces and three territories. La Cour suprême du Canada est le tribunal de dernier ressort (ou plus haute cour) du Canada. En tant que cour générale d'appel de dernière instance, elle constitue le dernier recours judiciaire de toutes les parties. Elle a compétence tant à l'égard des affaires touchant le droit civil du Québec qu'à l'égard des affaires touchant la common law applicable dans les neuf autres provinces et trois territoires.
