Dans les définitions de termes employés dans les textes de lois fédérales, le terme «prescrit» peut signifier «prescrit par règlement du gouverneur en conseil», par exemple. Toutefois, «prescrit» n'est pas toujours utilisé dans la traduction de «prescribed». En effet, pour ce qui est de certaines mentions qui n'ont pas été traduites en français, on se contente d'ajouter, vis-à-vis la définition de «prescribed», la note marginale «Version anglaise seulement».
