Conviene señalar, además, que la convivencia de ["favorito" y "marcador"] se debe, en gran medida, a una decisión comercial. Microsoft decidió utilizar el término "favoritos" (en inglés, "favorites") en su conocido navegador web (Internet Explorer); sin embargo, otros navegadores, como Chrome o Firefox, prefieren usar el término "marcadores" (en inglés, "bookmarks"; literalmente "marcapáginas").
