Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A series of regular grooved lines on the edge of modern coins and of most coins struck in gold, silver, and nickel, originally as a safeguard against clipping. 1, record 1, English, - graining
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
"Graining" is the technical term for the reeded edge of most modern coins. Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS
"Milling" is commonly but incorrectly used as a synonym for "graining" or "reeding". 1, record 1, English, - graining

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
1, record 1, French, - cannelures
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
1, record 1, French, - cannelures
