[Figure] III. 5: Sans date ni heure, une carte des flèches de vents n'est pas utilisable. [...] La flèche de vent. La flèche commence toujours à l'endroit de la station de mesures. Elle indique la direction dans laquelle souffle le vent, et sa longueur est proportionnelle à la vitesse du vent. Sous l'heure UTC, on voit une flèche dont la longueur correspond à une force de 10 kt. On peut ainsi calculer aisément la vitesse du vent au-dessus de chaque station. Les mesures sont prises toutes les 10 s et la flèche représente une valeur moyenne pour 10 mn.
