In November 2005, Coaches of Canada became an autonomous organization. Formerly, Coaches of Canada was an executive committee of the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) known as the Canadian Professional Coaches Association (CPCA). Coaches of Canada separated from CAC in order to better represent Canada's professional coaches.
