L'origine du break dancing : les gangs, aux États-Unis, fatiguées de se battre, s'accordent une trève (break) et tiennent un concours de danse pour déterminer quel groupe a les meilleurs danseurs. L'exécution demande l'habileté et la flexibilité d'un gymnaste.
