La première justification est extraite de l'article 23 de la Convention de Genève sur la haute mer (1958), dont les dispositions protocolaires établissent que : «L'original de la présente Convention, dont les textes ... anglais, espagnol, français et russe font également foi, sera déposé, etc. ...» (Article 37). La partie correspondante du texte anglais de cet article se lit : «... English, French, Russian and Spanish texts are equally authentic, etc ...». Par ces dispositions, la Conférence des Nations Unies sur le droit de la mer établit que les textes que comporte ladite Convention sont également authentiques, c'est-à-dire que, pour chacune des langues spécifiées à l'article 37, le texte en cette langue fait autorité. 5, record 2, French, - poursuite
